44 What 2 things could you do for a friend or family member in the next few weeks? (04/09/2023)

I will probably do a phone call to check up on how they are doing.
I might also write a postcard to send back home to Biggyn. I don't know what I would write on the postcard. I would send in a polaroid of me wearing a arabian male dress back in Qatar.
On the postcard, I might write:
I am doing pretty alright in Jordan. The desert and the heat sucks though. See you soon.

Today, one of my close friends texted me about having nightmares and wanting to go back home in the west coast. I ended up calling him but I was still at work so I had to end the conversation shortly. I am planning to call him again later on for a long conversation about what's going on.

It is hard to help out your family and friends while you are deployed. That's the main reason why I am not re-enlisting because you put the mission first before all else. I don't want to do that for the rest of my life. Plus, I am too hot-headed to be working under orders all the time. I like being free and not being micro-managed.
Sure, I could send them gifts but the best thing that I can do for others, is to be there for them and listen, which I am not able to do right now and it's a shitty feeling.
