33 Are you sticking to your goals and resolutions? (03/31/2023)

No. I believe I made around almost a hundred goals I wanted to complete by the end of my 9 month deployment but I only finished around 20. One of my goals was to catch up on my prompts too because almost 90 days of 2023 has passed but I am still on the 33rd prompt.

I am to blame for not being able to complete most of my goals that I made. I became impatient. Many of those goals require months of investment and I tried taking shortcuts which didn't work. For example, one of my goals was to get 225lbs on the bench press but I gave up after a month because I wanted to get lean instead. One of my other goals was to learn Spanish and Mandarin but I realized that my high social anxiety was a much bigger priority than learning a diferent language.

I also played a lot of video games especially Yakuza 0, Kiwami 2, and Like A Dragon, alongside both of the new Call of Duty Modern Warfares, and Elden Ring.

However, despite failing on a lot of my goals, I don't feel as guilty. I was able to complete some goals and improve a lot as a person. I had a ton of fun meeting and working with new people in three different countries so that I don't regret.

One main goal that I want to maintain/continue for 2023 is self-improvement. I want to continue being stronger and more fit in the gym and I also want to grow personally as well through honest self-reflection and being more vulnerable around others.

Achieving one big goals is a lot better than achieving many small goals in my opinion. However, a goal is achieved is better than none at all. I am still glad that I got to achieve a few goals and make some improvements. I can confidently say that I am not the same BG I was 6 months ago.
