Talk with Champ

Yesterday, I met with Champ, David, and Canyon to eat at Denny's in Koreatown Wilshire Western. While we ate, I talked about my trip to Japan and experience with an escort. Champ told me that I am still the same person and my reaction to it was more mature than he expected. After dinner, we got bing su and I refused to talk to the cute cashier girl working in a boba store. Canyon and David got dropped off. On the ride back, I talked with Champ about how his plan is going so far. His plan to be in a relationship and be married eventually started when I left for deployment in August 2022 which is when he started studying at Cal Poly Pomona. He had 3 years in his plan and when I met him again, 1.5 years had passed and he is still unfortunately single, just like me and the rest of us group. We talked about dating and how to find girls that are interested while trying to balance studying, a part-time job, and searching for an internship.
He told me about his success story where he grinded on a 40 year old dentist in the club when he and his 2 friends danced with 3 older women dentists in Las Vegas. I still have to talk to Kim about the dentist.
This is a little off topic but my favorite activity now is journaling. Life is hectic and stressful. There is so much going on simultaneously and it often becomes hard to focus. I know what I have to do but what do I do first, how much effort and time should I put into it. Just thinking about what you have to do becomes stressful. Journaling about my thoughts and activities I have done with friends helps my mind be more clear and focused. There is still a lot of things happening but journaling helps me to deal with it alongside meditation.
After we reached my home, we just parked outside and continued talking. Champ's dream is to be in the US air force and go from enlisted to officer so he can be a citizen to sponsor his sister. He is trying to find a VISA sponsored internship alongside a relationship.
THe major thing we talked about is trying to figure out how to do all these without having a mentor. I kept asking him and myself, how will we figure this out. He said somehow we will. There is nobody to guide us on finding a girlfriend especially in our situations. We don't know what to expect. Our 2024 resolution has been the same one for the past 5 years, get a girlfriend.
