Six Flags with Nicole and Lincoln (10/21)
On October 21st, 2023, on Saturday, I went to Six Flags with Nicole and Lincoln. I first met with Nicole because Lincoln was running late. While talking, a wasp flew on her bag so I took out a double layer of tissue, and caught the wasp before dumping it in the trash. While walking away from the murder scene, we saw Oski walking away. I called out "Oski" and as it turned around, it walked into a pole but luckily its giant head blocked the impact. Oski made no noise and we took a group selfie with it with Lincoln in the background before telling it goodbye and that I loved Oski. After meeting Lincoln, we took an Uber to Six Flags. We talked about jobs, family, weather, South Cal vs North Cal, and the book "Never Split the Difference" with the Uber driver, Jimmy. I talked about how I plan to eventually move back to Los Angeles to start mentoring my brother as he starts studying high school. I also realized that job interviews are mainly to assess your personality, and problem-solving skills, and see if you are a good fit. They already saw your resume and cover letter and know you meet the minimum qualifications.
At Six Flags, we waited an hour for Medusa and a 2-hour ride for Kong. The rides were not scary. For Medusa, I screamed for the initial drop but then I stopped because I realized that I was the only one screaming. I then gambled $20 and lost 8 shots in a basketball game. I also had to take Nicole into the men's restroom as she covered her face with a hoodie because the ladies' restroom line was too long. While waiting in line, I did a mixture of reading my Economics paper on the Great Recession, watching Instagram memes on Lincoln's phone, and playing Mobile Legends on Nicole's phone.
We then switched to haunted houses for the fright fest at 6 p.m. Overall, most of the haunted houses were a bunch of people in scary costumes and makeup jumping scaring you out of the corner when you enter a room. I think my favorite one was the mirror one. You see a girl sitting down at a mirror when all of a sudden the reflection comes out to scare you because it was two people all along. My other favorite one was when they filled the pathway with fog and the actors would slowly walk nearby waiting for me to turn around to get jumpscared.
As for our last ride, we did the Batman ride. It was only 40 seconds long but it was my favorite. It's a small rider with seats facing different ways. As we reach the peak, I see the entire six flags before dropping down and being spun 360 up and down in my seat. The ride itself doesn't spin that much but the seats spin independently. It was fun and the most unique ride I did.
To end it off, we ate In N Out and the animal fries were delicious. In N Out is one of my comfort foods. When I was in high school, almost every weekend, my sister would take me hiking and then we would use that exercise as justification to eat In N Out. I still miss my little brother and my older sister who are in LA. She played a big role in shaping me into who I am today. If it weren't for her, I would be an asshole with no sense of empathy for others. She is one of the few people in this world who truly understands me and what I went through. I want to do the same thing to my brother. One of my dreams is to mentor my brother. During weekends, we will go on road trips eating different foods, visiting different places, and trying out new things. Every summer, I want to take him traveling to Europe, Hong Kong, or Japan. Alongside that, I help him with college essays, professional development, and growing into an adult in the US. That's one of my dreams.
