Four!
4. Dancing: Who’s dancing and why are they tapping those toes? (02/21/2023)
I think a lot of people in class, the office, or in the train or bus are dancing but its not obvious. Some of them have music playing on speakers, some on their headphones, and others in their mind. As they are listening, one of their foots(usually the right one) is rapidly moving their heel up and down while their toes stay glued to the ground. Each beat, each syllable in the song commands their heel to move up and down. You can listen to the rhythm based on the heel tapping the floor. Other times It’s a silent dance with the heel constantly moving in the air with the exception of the quiet noises the leg makes as they graze against the seat they are sitting on. Maybe they dance because the song’s jam is too enjoyable to not move to. Maybe they dance to ease the nervousness away to prepare for an upcoming exam or meeting.
Alongside the feet, you can also notice some heads bopping up and down slightly in tune and once in a while you may hear a finger flick or two. Some mouths might lip sync to the lyrics. In rare occasions, they might enjoying themselves so much that they let out a vocal lyric before closing their mouth in embarrassment and looking around to see if anybody noticed. Noticing that they are safe, they continue dancing as if nobody is watching.
