11. Dragon: Envision a dragon. Do you battle him? Or is the dragon friendly? Use descriptive language. (02/25/2023)
I imagine a dragon that knights use to fight: a large red scaled reptilian flying beast that sleeps in a dark cave up in the mountains. The floor of the cave is like the desert full of tiny gold coins forming mini gold hills with some tiny flowers in the form of emeralds, diamonds, and sapphire jewels. Anyone that tries to steals the treasure is immediately showered with a rain of fire. They are transformed into a pile of black ash in a split second with no pain nor scream.
This has me wondering, why is a dragon guarding a cave full of treasure? How did it get all this treasure? Is the dragon guarding it for someone else or maybe it took over the cave after it killed its previous inhabitants, a group of bandits perhaps. What is a dragon going to do with all this gold, buy some land or a giant castle?
I assume a dragon lives for a several hundred years. So some things a dragon may want is a giant home possibly up in the mountains where they have more freedom to stretch their wings and fly. It’s easier to have peace when humans aren’t bothering you all the time. Since dragons live for a long time, they must be intelligent creatures as well and maybe a little bit arrogant too as they assume they know everything about the world. They might trade some of the gold they have for some new wisdom or a very challenging riddle that gets their minds thinking. Only a fool would go up to a dragon asking if they want some riddles to decipher. If they don’t end up getting toasted in the first few seconds, they might come back home with a large bag of jewels and possibly as a hero as well.
