108. If you could ask a living or dead person just one question, who’d you ask, and what would you ask? (05/30/2023)
I would ask the cute girl that works in the opposite department if I could sit next to her while she is on break. I don’t know anything about her, not even her name. She wears glasses and she has straight hair which is my type.
If she says no, I would just say, “My bad” and go back to my office like nothing happened. If she says yes, I would introduce myself saying:
“Hi, my name is BG and I work in the opposite office in Theater Gateway. I used to hang out with the old PERSCO team Ramos, Garber, and Trent. Since they are leaving, they told me to meet the new PERSCO people. You seem like the nicest and least intimidating person so I was like, I will start with her. I have social anxiety, and I am scared of talking with people. However, I don’t like being a loner so this is me pushing myself to be more social. It’s always a struggle. One part of my mind is saying, “I really like to get to know this person, they seem interesting.” The other part of me is saying, “No, stay where you are. Don’t do anything or you will make one more embarrassing memory to keep you awake at night”.
“Yet, here I am talking with you. Even though I am scared of talking with people, I love learning about them. I believe people are the most interesting and complex things to exist in the universe. Each person has a different story to tell. Even identical twins who lived together can end up with different hobbies, personalities, and careers.”
“Well, it was nice meeting you. Oh, also tonight they have an event going on at the Danish Camp right outside the PERSCO building from 1800 till 2100. If you are interested, we can go together whenever you have a break. I am also trying to go early to get my free Danish MRE. If you aren’t interested, that’s fine too. Well, it was nice meeting with you and thank you for listening to me ramble on about my thoughts.”
