66 Is there anything you’re most proud of in the past year? (04/25/2023)
Participating in the naked run.
It was Spring 2022 and it was my first semester at UC Berkeley. It was also one of my close friend, Kim, last semester. There are some Berkeley traditions such as if you step on the university seal, you won't get a 4.0 GPA. Another tradition was the naked run where a group of students (usually seniors in their last semester) start running naked in the Main Stacks Library. This also happens during dead week where there are no classes and everyone is cramming right before finals start. It was Kim's last semester so I urged him to do it to get the full Berkeley experience. He didn't want to do it alone so I told him I would do it as well. Nighttime comes and there is a horde of students on every floor of the library on each side of the stair case leaving the middle area empty for the naked runners. Me and Kim go to the lowest floor which was the starting point and there were about 50 people out of the almost 1000 spectating. Me, Kim, and the other people look at each other both scared and confused on what to do next. The main event coordinator comes and she starts undressing in front of us. Some of the guys follow suit and take off their shirts and pants. I said "Fuck It" and did the same and Kim followed. Most of us went into the corner to store our clothes and to take off our boxers. Kim kept his boxers on and wore a lab coat which made him stand out even more but he kept his identity hidden under a mask. The main runner shouted for the event to begin and we all started running up the library all naked. A lot of people were cheering and I was super excited and nervous but I kept running and kept looking at the crowd. We ran up 6 floors and ran back down to the bottom to conclude the run.
After the run was over, Me and Kim regrouped with Steven and Ian who backed out last minute. A lot of people were taking picture and recording videos throughout the run because one of my other friends send me a video of me and the other runners naked. On one hand, I have proof and a good memory to keep. On the other hand, I cannot fully comprehend that I ran naked in front of almost a thousand people where they all saw my dick and ass in plain view. Still pretty proud of that.
